Getting tracks ready for either self finalizing or mastering..

Hi all, a quick guide to preparing audio files for audio mastering, simple and short:

Operate your DAW at 24 bit resolution.

24 bit is preferable (32 bit is also fine)

Leave sample rate at same setting as project.

Ensure there is not a limiter plug in on the master output.

Ensure when you remove a limiter that there are no peaks above 0dBFS (i.e. clipping)

Do not send in MP3 or other compressed file formats.

Zip, .rar or Stuffit the files before uploading, this protects the integrity of the files during transfer.

That should stand you in good stead for online mastering or self finalizing of your own material
