I want to change my username of Apple Support!

Make a new account and choose the username you want this time

I want to change my username as well. I logged in to Apple Communities and it automatically soldered my Apple ID to this user name.

Making a new account is not an option for me because I have a lot of purchases associated to my Apple ID.

I do not know of any other way.

Apple gave me a default, Angelafromsomewhere and I was apple to click on it and come up with my own name. I don't think I'll be able to change it now if I wanted to, at least not at this time. When creating the name, apple tells you that you can't change your username.

I also accidently clicked too quickly and seem to be stuck with the above too! How stupid is that, that you can´t edit it!! Hello... can someone please take note in apple!!!

To confirm what iPad Angela said, from the account creation screen:

If everyone could just change their name whenever they wanted, it would be an awful experience for people who regularly frequent the community.

On top of that, in my opinion it makes no sense that you can change your Apple ID (which in my opinion is a more sensitive piece of information) and not your Apple Support Communities username.

Make a new account with the name that you want.

Csound1: You cannot create a new Apple Support Communities without creating a new Apple ID. I would rather have one Apple ID rather than two.

Has anybody ever had any success on this query from Apple? I have seen several threads about this topic, but not one solution yet. What does Apple prefer - that we rather create fake Apple ID's with dummy e-mail addresses, so that we can use those usernames? (Which is what this address is - the e-mail address will never be checked by me, but I used it since I did not like my previous username, and cannot change it...).

Also, can the posters please check the answers before posting: There is no way to delete an existing Support community account without deleting an Apple ID, and you cannot create a different user account on the same Apple ID. The answer os not helpful, similar to this post which only refers to the global site without any help.

Some time ago I saw another thread in which some Apple representative honored such a request (the user requesting it was a senior Apple user, I guess that made this particular request to proceed). But the thread was deleted, I guess in order to avoid mass requesting of this feature.
