“Flashing” Screen as if a photo is being taken???

I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 there are a few issues. . .

Since installing it a few weeks ago I get this strange single “flashing” of the screen every few minutes, almost as if someone is taking a photo. A bit creepy, actually.

I covered the camera eye just to see if it would stop. Nothing!

Naturally, I have used Repair Permissions, etc.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

How about a Third Party repair program? I’ve used Disk Warrior and Norton in the past. Any new/better one’s that you could suggest?

Have you selected "Flash the screen when an alert sound occurs"?

To check open System Preferences and select the Universal Access pane. Then select the Hearing tab, the first tick box has the option to flash the screen. Unselect this and monitor to see if the flashing continues.

I have no idea about the font size, William Boyd, jr. It looks about 16 point on my screen. Could be your machine?

Launch the Console utility and look for messages that might explain the problem.

By the way, is there a reason your post is in such a large font size? That makes people have to do a lot of scrolling to read your entire post.

Your latest reply looks "normal" in terms of font size. It's your first post in this thread that had the giant font size. About 13 lines of that post filled my Safari window, while in "normal" posts I see over twice that many lines at once.
