Cisco VPN 10.6.8 stops working after I put the system in standby

Cisco VPN in 10.6.8 stops working after I put the system in standby and I have to restart the computer to get it back again. It used to work fine in 10.6.7. The steps: Connect to vpn, close the lid (i usually close it for a couple of minutes/hours), open the lid (vpn remains connected for whatever reason), click disconnect, connect again - ERROR. Logging out doesn't solve the problem. Any idea?

I can't even install Cisco VPN client after upgrading to 10.6.8. Any fix?

I'm actually using the built in Cisco VPN client. Did you try with that one?

found the solution (at work). the vpn daemon has to be restarted. after that it works perfectly.

Unload the VPN daemon:

% sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.racoon.plist

Then reload the VPN daemon:

% sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.racoon.plist

I have the same problem, but the solution offered here doesn't work. I'd like to switch to the built-in Cisco client, but I need the server address, which I can't remember and can't retrieve as demonstrated here: http://anders.com/guides/native-cisco-vpn-on-mac-os-x/, because my Cisco client doesn't even get past the "Error 51" popup to the main screen 😕.

Hello, native cisco is not working with my enterprise connection. l need use cisco vpn client to connect to my network, but cisco vpn client is not compatible with mountain lion. 😟

How can I get this to run in a script so that I can schedule this to run ever so many days? I you can, please be very specific as I am not too familiar with scripting.
