Recently installed dvd drive and get the following error message on startup, the sysytem extension "/System/Library/Extensions/IOSCSiBlockCommandsDevice.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Pointer is frozen in upper left hand corner.

Tried disk utility, restarts, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try holding the Shift key down at bootup to see if it disables that kext or whatever the problem is.

PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

I got to the safe boot screen but couldn't move the pointer to type in my password.
