how to insert check mark symbol on ipad

I use the Apple keyboard/charger w/ iPad2, and wondering if there's a way to insert a check mark symbol in Notes either w/ the hardware keyboard or the touch screen keyboard

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.2

I don't see a checkmark on the touchscreen keyboard, even by holding down on the keys to bring up the optional symbols. You can go here and copy and paste. You have to go onto this site while using the iPad. You could bookmark it for easier access.

Thanks Tom,

I did try that when I was using the Noteworthy font and the result didn't look like a check mark, but then I tried it using Helvetica and it did work, so thanks.

With the hardware keyboard it should work exactly like any normal computer -- Option/alt + v. √ Does that not work for you? Or if you want something different, you can surely find it in an app like Unicode Map and copy/paste from there.
