The store just keeps showing a loading bar up the top and eventually it comes up with the error code "504".
I have restarted iTunes and problem persists.
Also iTunes is up to date (10.3.1) and system also. The only things are NOT up to date are new iLife '11 updates and GarageBand Instruments update.

I just read somewhere else that the app store is down - since those two are linked, it may have something to do with it. Just give it some time - your software apps not being up to date have nothing to do with it.
Ok thanks. I was thinking Apple may be doing some work on their online stores. I have just tried to search for something on the Mac App Store and it came up with cannot connect. Then it worked again, they must be upgrading some things.
