Obviously, I am not alone with this, although, I am on Powerbook G4, 10.4.11, 2GB RAM, 10.4.11 all latest Updates, and Safari 4.1.3 unlike the author of the following post, Tim Kite, who did did great job in his post!!!
Tim, please Repost your post, that starts with
It's most certainly a PPC Safari issue at this point
on Twitter Support page http://j.mp/p7wU6W !!!!
As to you writing
It will be up to Twitter to fix their code, or some clever hacker to post a Safari extension that fixes the code en-route for PPC users.
I am not too optimistic... And I am not a Conspiracy Theorist either, but here is a thought:
Since Twitter is going to be deeply integrated into OS 10.7, Lion, which is days away from being released, it'd be fair to say that Twitter and Apple are in a pretty tight partnership! And Apple cutting off Rosetta, never mind PPC, G4 and G5, is trying to have all PPC Users Upgrade = BUY New Macs!!! Thus such "little things" as New Twitter not working on PPC Macs could be another • deliberate annoyance •, as opposed to accidental issue?! I hope that I am wrong... And a possibly related note, look here:
On this Maccast Facebook Page:
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=106463513203 it says:
It is true. This is a screen grab from Apple's iPhone Battery page,
http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
That Link Format http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html was CLICKABLE for YEARS, and lately it's not!!!
So... I wonder if there is a CONNECTION between JAVA + Safari, TWITTER, FACEBOOK affecting PPC Users, particularly 10.4.11 PPC users, as opposed to G5 and later Mac OS users???
I'd like others to test that Link: http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html on this Facebook Note
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=106463513203
Is it CLICKABLE?
SORRY if I am getting too Off Topic with that Facebook issue, it's just that I wonder if PPC Java & Safari are the COMMON DENOMINATOR???
Meanwhile, I hope that Twitter and Apple, at least, are reading this Thread! If they are, it'd be nice if they Confirmed that they do, without anyone getting fired for such frankness:) Otherwise, it seems like: Don't Call US, we won't Call You!!! But then - CALL is too 20th Century, where as these days those Tech Support Phone ## are way too UNLISTED!!! Thus it's Catch Me If You Can:)!
Hope whomever it is... does the right thing and FIXES this!!!
Thanks to EVERYONE posting on this Excellent Thread!!!
