Does GB 2.0.02 not have the effect automation feature?

First off, I can't upgrade my computer right now due to lack of money. Ok, Im running garageband version 2.0.2 on this laptop I just bought off someone and im also running mac osx 10.5.8 which I have no idea what years either are from. I'm trying to create a Dubstep/DnB track right now with a few software instruments (synths and bass), and it won't let me control the speed and intensity of my auto filter manually when recording. I've selected the control pane on the track itself and it will not give me the option to insert an automation even with the effects and filter on the track! All it says is is master volume and track pan, and I'm growing frusterated as the time goes... :/ Any help is appreciated..
