Do you know what they are? According to your signature, you're on 10.5.8 - I'm on 10.6.8, so I don't know what updates you'd be getting. And, I just noticed: you say you have a G5 which is a PowerPC - you posted in the Intel iMac forum.

Before running Software Update again, try the following: go to your Users > Library > Preferences folder and move the following file to the desktop: com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist. Restart computer. Run SU now and see if it works properly. Throw the deleted file in the trash and empty.
