Yes. The warranty started from date of purchase.
You can register the iPod here > Apple - Product Registration - Welcome

It depends somewhat on where you live. In most countries, particularly those where Apple provides their own service, a purchase receipt is not necessary. Apple will go by the serial number of your iPod. In countries where service is handled by another company, though, they sometimes require a receipt. If you're in the US, you should have no problems.
Regards.
if you want to know if you still have the warranty check here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
Input the serial number of the ipod touch and it will tell you if you can claim the warranty for free.
Cheers 😉

I WANTED TO USE THE FIND MY IPOD SERVICE BUT ITS TELLING ME I HAVE TO CONECT THE DEVICE BUT I DONT HAVE IT. I WANT TO REGISTER BEFORE IT GETS CLEANED OUT. WHAT CAN I DO?
THANKS, HOPEFUL
Mr. Bravo posted well over two years ago, so it's unlikely that he will reply to you now. Nor does your question have anything to do with his post. It's best to post new questions as a new topic rather than asking in someone else's thread. That's rather impolite. It's also a bit impolite to write all in caps, since that's just harder to read and is considered to be "shouting" on the Internet.
Answering your question quickly, though, if you did not get up Find My iPod on the Touch before you lost it, there's no way to track it, erase it, or in any other way affect it. You'll just have to keep looking for it.
Regards.
