Everytime after my display goes to sleep, it wakes up right after that - so it never goes to sleep. I was trying to reset my SMC, but that was not working. I have a 2011(thunderbolt) MBP 15'', and I was wondering how i would go about doing an SMC reset.
Also is there a way i could perform a check that would confirm that the SMC has been reset?

Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Ok, so im back. nothing happened with my magsafe LED. i think it worked but im not too sure. is there a way for me to confirm that the SMC reset took.
Maybe it didnt.
Like is there a way i can check if the values got reset to its default, or any other way...

Not sure about that. Perhaps someone else can help you with that.
I cannot remove my battery, which is why i feel that SMC reset wont work of me. There must be another way.
