My empty folder won't delete, even though I have full admin priveleges?

I have been trying to get rid of this folder that i created not too long ago, the folder is now empty but I am unable to delete it. when i right click>move to trash it prompts me for my password, which i then enter and receive this frustrating message: "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items." I have also tried to command+delete which doesn't work. I have run a permissions repair with disk utility with no luck.

I just want to delete a folder! gaahh! Please help! Very frustrated.

Yes. Select the icon of your home folder in the sidebar of a Finder window and open the Info window. In the lower right corner of the window, click the lock icon and authenticate. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you should have read & write access. I suggest you delete any other permissions. Then select "Apply to enclosed items" from the action menu (with the gear icon.) Close the Info window and try again to delete the folder.

thanks for the reply;

I checked the info and "Trevor(Me)", "staff", and "everyone" all have read & write priveleges. As for the ownership, when "Trevor (Me)" is highlighted and i click on the gear the "makes this user owner" option is visible but greyed out (unclickable), and that option is not visible at all for "staff" or "everyone".

Problem still persists =(
