Since the App is free, why not just download it and give it a try and see for yourself. No harm done there. 😉

Yes there's a log in and your number will be saved.
It's a really great app and my only problem is that I don't text regularly, I only need it a few days out of the month, so I get the occasional reminder that I have to use it within 15 days in order to keep the number assigned to me.
