I have a rather outdated version of OSX as you can see from my topic. I downloaded the 10.4.3 combined update but cannot get it to install. I know how to play video games on PC and write and print papers from apple works. I can cruise the internet too but other than that i do not have much computer or macintoshe specific knowledge. I do know that the macintosh was featured on a Vh1i love the 80's special, but that doesn't really help at the moment.
So what do i need to do to get from Os 10.1.5 to Os 10.4.3.

You cannot update from the version of OS X you currently have installed. You must purchased OS X 10.4 (Tiger) $139.00 U.S. After your version came 10.2 (Jaguar) and then 10.3 (Panther). Each point update of OS X requires that the user purchase a new installation disc and license.
That's not completely true; the intro printed in the Tiger booklet with the retail DVD says you can use it to upgrade from 10.2 and later, so you can bypass Panther completely. So, Sober Guy only has to update to 10.2 and then spend the cash for Tiger which comes on a DVD, so I hope he's got a DVD drive...he can get it on a CD for more bucks, if necessary.
