How can I watch DVDs on a TV using my macbook pro as the DVD player?

I cant seem to find the right adaptor or anything. Whether is be Thunderbolt or a regular mini display port. help!

You need a Thunderbolt or mini DisplayPort to composite converter like this one:

Yikes, unless you can find one for much less than that, I'd put than kind of money toward a TV with HDMI connections.
