Cannot install Leopard on SSD "Install Failed" Restart your computer.

I ordered a SSD from OWC and installed it in my PowerBook and Leopard won't install! It's the strangest thing because it formats fine passes disk verify with 0 errors.

This is what I know:

  • Tiger will install just fine- I just tried it.
  • Leopard installed fine on an regular old PATA hdd.
  • My Leopard disks are good. I have tried 3 of them.

Why does the formula of SSD+PowerBook+Leopard not equate?

PowerBook G4 17" (1.33GHz)

I have an old G4 PowerBook 17", (V5,3)

With my Transcend 2.5 inch SSD 64GB (TS64GPSD320), it also came jumpered as master, and I left the jumper on. However, I experienced trouble installing a clean Tiger and/or Leopard until I found the error I made! Do remember when doing the partion in DiskTool to choose "Options" and Apple Partition Map (for PowerPC - based Macintosh. If you fail to do so Install disk will not recognize SSD as a boot disk!
