how do i put movies from my itunes to my ipad
iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.2
If the movies are in your iTunes library - With your iPad connected to your computer and iTunes running - click on your iPad name on the left side - Click on the Movies Tab in the main iTunes window on the right side - make sure you check - Sync Movies - then select the movies that you want to sync and then sync the iPad.
Look for movies in the Videos App on your iPad.
You have to convert the movies to mpg4 for i phone i pad etc
I personally use Handbrake for this, which is free for both PC & Mac.

Wow paulbc, extremely helpful. Here we are on an apple support site and instead of answering the question you just direct the OP to another link so they can search through other thousands of pages.
In your mind, every thread started in discussions.apple.com should have a second post by a moderator just telling them to quit asking here and just read through the documentation at the support site. Makes me wonder why there's even a discussions area at all.

The OP asked a very basic question, indicating that they didn't understand the basics of using iTunes and/or the iPad. The link I gave explains that better and quicker than anything I could have posted here.

Naw, zero digging on my part, in fact it was laying on the surface if you want to use that terminology. It came up as the first result from google.
Perhaps you could have linked to a specific page in the support section? Or maybe next time you'll just throw a link to www.google.com out there since Google can explain it so much better than you can.

Rather than just some vague link that points to the general support page. Whether it was your intention or not, that kind of thing tells the "noob" to quit being so stupid and do the research before posting to our forums! Did you consider the OP did any searching at all before posting the question?
