Where are bookmarks in Safari on the iPad?

I can't find my safari bookmarks in iPad. Thought I synched them to my MacBook. Any ideas?

Bookmarks are in a folder nested several layers deep. The quickest way to find them is to enter "Bookmarks" in Spotlight (the magnifying glass in the upper right of your screen).
