Power Mac G5 has noisy fans when system is used alot...

I have recently bought myself a Power Mac G5, the first G5 PowerMac I have ever owned, and also the highest PowerPC machine I have ever owned. Whenever I do things such as running virtual PC, or genesis plus, or even going on Apple Communities, the fans kick up for a moment, get noisy, then go back down. Any idea? My old main machine, a Power Mac G4 wasn't this noisy when I was doing things like this. I don't mind the noise, it's just that it might get irritating after a while. Thanks for any help, even though it might sound like a beginner's question. I have been into macs since 1999, but this is my first Power Mac G5, so I am not familiar with it's behavior.

Specs:

1.8GHz PowerPC G5 DP (Fan Cooled)

2GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM

1.08TB HDD, (1TB main, 80GB slave)

Mac OS X 10.5.8

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB)

PowerMac7,3

I included the model identifier with this specs in case anyone could identify what could be causing this. This is an early or mid 2004 machine.

The interior must be clean and free from dust.

The same is said for the interior of the PSU and the interior of the heat sink assemblies.

Fans that ramp up, then down may be due to a sensor malfunction, or may be due to power management issues.

Reset of the SMU may be in order:

Failing that, find a copy of the ASD 2.5.8, burn a CD, boot to the disc and run Thermal Calibration.

Keep the Radeon clean, and consider replacing thermal compound:
