60p 60i or 24p?

I just bought a hdr-cx700v camcorder and I am wondering what setting I should record on. 60i, 60p or 24p? I am using imove 11 as my video editing software. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Tricia

In video production, shooting with a higher frame rate such as 60p versus 24p produces smoother video when excessive amounts of motion are present. Thus, a clearer picture (as well as a larger file size) is produced when shooting in 60p as opposed to 24p and is typically used for slow motion shots as it provides additional frames in between when time is slowed down to produce a smoother video. When considering 60p against 60i, go with 60p since this has to do with the way the image is rendered and produced on a monitor.
