Spotlight Server: Finds stuff even when deactivated, does not find newly added files

Hi everyone,

I just noticed the following weird behaviour on 10.6.8 Server:

1) It does not matter if I deactivate Spotlight searching for a share in Server Admin or not. The client can still search the share, even after restarting AFP on the server and remounting the share on the client.

2) Newly created files do not appear in the search results. Remounting the share and searching again does not help.

I made sure that the greyed out Spotlight user is shown under ACL in Server Admin and I propagated access priviliges recursively through the share. Any idea what is causing this?

Thanks

Björn

Weird, it seems to have fixed itself. 😕 I had no time to investigate further so I’m hoping that it will stay this way...
