The iPad doesn't have a file system like a PC. Each app maintains it's own data files, you can't sync a folder of files from your PC. To get a file to the iPad, you can use iTunes, drag a file to a specific app on the iPad, then sync. If that app supports Dropbox or iDisk, then you can get the file from PC to iPad via that service.

I read the ansewers to the site and I think when customers ask a question relating to how to do something, they want a quick and easy solution.

Having been in the IT Industry for more than 20 years and using Microsoft products daily I turned to Apple thinking this was an innovative company. They certainly are but their software is as appalling as Microsoft.

I want to know how to transfer PDFs to my IPAD. The solution, use DropBox or email them to my Apple email account. What's wrong with these solutions or drag and drop them to a specific application? WHY? Why do i need to select an application to begin with? Does the Ipad not now what an PDF file is and how to associate it to an application? I don't want to resort to using DropBOX or email. I mean, why should I and why do people settle for these lame and pathetic solutions Apple provide? More importantly, why do customers accept it?

In this day and age it appears we are still behind in so many respects. Apple have disappointed me as much as Microsoft yet they are they dominate. Amazing.

Apple make us believe everything they do is for a reason. It's for security etc. What's wrong with a simply drag and drop when IPAD is connected to the PC like the Nexus 7 and other devices? Have every other company got it wrong but Apple?

Yes I now have an IPAD and a Nexus. For years I have followed Apple. Unless they really start thinking about these things, they will lose the market.

It should have taken far less than an hour to email PDFs to yourself. Or downoad iTunes and transfer them. Or upload them to DropBox. Perhaps you don't understand the procedures. If you explain exactly how you were trying to do this, someone can help.

Best of luck.
