Just bought my Iphone 4.... with no sound?

1. NO, my mute button isnt on.

2. YES, my volume is up.

3. I have not dropped my phone since I purchased it yesterday.

There's no sound from speaker phone during a phone call, ringers or ringtones dont make noise even when selecting them through settings, it will not play any music out loud, and basically wont make sound unless the headphones are in. When I remove the headphones it shows that it goes back into it's normal mode but alas, still no sound what so ever. Am I missing some secret mysterious setting or is my Iphone's speakers honestly not working? I can't find anyone with this EXACT problem who A, wasnt a moron who left the mute on or B, didnt have a headphone jack problem.

I'm a 5 year blackberryaholic who finally switched to apple products and lemme tell you, I am not a happy camper with this so far. 😠

Did you pair your iphone with any bluetooth devices? If yes, turn bluetooth off.
Did you try to reset your phone by holding the sleep an d home button until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose any data doing a reset.

If this does not work, restore your phone "as new iphone" How to back up your data and set up as a new device

Tap Settings in the Home screen then tap General / Reset / Reset All Settings.

Restart the iPhone.

How would I restore my iphone? theres nothing to really back up since I just bought the thing...

Restoring will install the firmware again on your phone. This will make sure that any strange behavior of the phone is not related to the Apple software.

I have restored, reset and all that jazz and still nothing. Somtimes there is sound and other time there isn't. I too do not have my mute on and the ringer and volume are up. I was using the ipod from my phone to teach yesterday and the sound would randomly just stop. The song would continue to play but there'd be no sound.

Arrrrgh

p.s - Mine isnt new but still within warranty (so new enough) and my second one since the first one had hardware issues!

I have the exact same problem, as of today! Even the keyboard chicks vines on and off! 10 days old Fresh from the package… must be a broken programme !
