On the Timeline, I moved some footage around and re-synched some sound and image, now when I play back in some parts of the film I see repeats of shots that are not there (like a re-play effect) and a few jitters? any ideas will be much appreciated. FCP 7.0.3 footage is a mix of Prores and XDCAM

I had an incident like that a number of years back; it turned out that although I'd changed clips, the render files got corrupt and replayed the old images. I killed all the render files for the sequence and re-rendered and the problem went away.
I'm guessing that the jittering is related to the mixed formats. you've done nothing "wrong" but sometimes dissimilar formats can make a system stutter.
