With iCloud, will this free up space on my iPhone since everything will be stored in the "cloud"? I have an 8gb 3GS that for some reason only has 6.8GB capacity. What is the "other" in yellow stored on my phone? it takes up 2.1GB of space. I don't get it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.3

No, it will not be a streaming service so it will not help free up your space in the main.

And your available disk space is correct which has to do with how disk manufacturers measure disk space and how some operating systems address it. But that is probably too much in "Other" and it may include corrupted files. Do a Restore from Backup and see if it goes down.

OK so everyone is right about being screwed if you forget your backup encryption password. However I did find something in a post from someone (I am sorry but I forgot who) but if you really need to get your password you can try this. Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker...They have a free trial version (didnt work for me, but it may for you) and a $70 Home Edition which did work. I am currently restoring my phone as I type this. It got my password back for me! Thanks to everyone who helped.
