ipad update - my computer restarted, now my ipad just has the apple and empty bar

It's been sitting for 15 minutes and not updating or showing anything except the apple and and empty bar under it - horizontal -

Has this happened to any one else? Should I disconnect and try again? The update downloaded, my iMac crashed and told me to shutdown and restart using the button. and here I am. Saddly.
