Hi,
I'm using MacBook Pro's built in mic to record acoustic guitar in garageband, this works perfectly in regular projects; but in the guitar lessons ("how did I play") the record button seems to be disabled. Any idea why?

I'm having the same problem but with piano lessons.
I've just figured out my problem. When I go to 'Learn to Play', and choose my Piano Lesson by double clicking, it has been asking if I wanted to update the lesson to enable 'How did I play'. I've been canceling that update and that's the problem. Just let it update the lessons and that should enable your ability to record the lesson.
This solved my problem today.
