Unable To Access Netflix At This Time...

Unable To Access Netflix At This Time, Please Try Again Later.

Why is it I get this message so often on my Apple TV 2?

It seems that one has to unplug and replug in the power then most of the times it connects.

Why is it that it does this ONLY with the Apple TV? I switch over to the PS3 and it connects

with no issue, I switch over to the Apple TV and I get the error message.

Is it the Apple TV, is it Netflix and the Apple TV?

This is getting frustrating.

At this particular moment yes NetFlix just happens to be down again, and you will not be able to login and they have no real idea on when it will be back again.

This is not my issue. I get the "Unable To Access Netflix At This Time, Please Try Again Later." message when NetyFlix is operational. In fact when I get this message my PS3 connects with no problems, but not the AppleTV 2.

I can connect with my macbook pro with no issues, but my ps3 is switching between unable to connect you to netflix, please try again later and unable to connect to netflix please try again or to go back to the xmb press the playstation button on your controller. I just thought I'd let you know that it isn't just your apple tv that is having issues.

I can also connect with my MacBook Pro at this time, but at this moment PS3 and Apple TV is unable to connect, but like I said this problem now is because NetFlix is having another major outage. However like I said this is NOT the reason I get this error message.

This error message appears when Netflix is working normally on all other devices and NetFlix is not reporting a problem as they are currently reporting.

Here we go again:

"Unable To Access Netflix At This Time, Please Try Again Later"

Yet it is working with the Wii and PS3, but in my movie room ATV2 fails again to hook up with Netflix.

I am connected directly to the router now, not even using wi fi, yet it still requires multiple trys before it connects

or sometime a hardboot of the ATV2.

Is this an Apple issue, a NetFix issue or what? This has nothing to do with the outages that seem to plague NetFlix lately it happens when NetFlix is suppose to be operating normally.

A whole 3%, wow how generous. Truthfully I just wished it just worked. Mine is more intermittent. Sometimes if I keep trying, after 5 or 6 times it gains access, sometimes a hard reboot is required, and sometimes it works as advertised. Very unstable on this end, everything else on the Apple TV network works just find, streaming from my library and streaming from the itunes store as well as YouTube, pretty much everything except NetFlix.

I would be happy just to have some acknowledement that NetFlix on Apple TV is crap. Come on. I'm on a wired connection. Netflix works flawlessly on my iPad and PC, so don't try to think it's a network issue. Unplugging it and plugging it back in *sometimes* will make it work for a while. After i spend 5 minutes getting my username/password put in again, and again, and again, and again.

I just want ANYONE at apple to stop pretending that this software works the way it should, and get it fixed.

Doesn't mean it's just an Apple TV problem either. I've heard from others having problems on other devices. Some were mentioned earlier in this thread. Personally i've never had a problem, except when the whole Netflix service is down (which has been twice). So it does work.

I read on another thread that it had to do with particular problematic servers and was something on Netflix's end. I'll see if I can find it.

I'm having problems too. Either it just spins and spins or says Netflix is not available. It's happened on at least two nights so far. Netflix streaming works fine on the iPad, just not on AppleTV, so I know the servers aren't down. Power cycling the AppleTV let me get into the netflix browser, but then when I tried to play a show, it said "this content not available" or something like that, and now when I try to play anything it just spins and spins. Youtube and everything else works fine on the AppleTV (it's a wired connection), so I know it's not the connection. The netflix troubleshooting page just said to contact apple tech support. Lame.

Pleas dont bother looking something up that's says one time Netflix servers had a problem. I agree that sometimes Netflix servers are a problem. But when two other devices can acccess netflix from the same home network I think it's time for ATV folks to admit that they can do a better job. They can also stop hiding the password on a device used in a private home, stop making you type in the same username and password over and over and over and over and provide legit error messages that can actually help troubleshoot a technical issue.

Plus I didn't get on here to vent because one time it didn't work. It has been 50/50 whether it will work for a couple of months now. Usually an unplug will get it working again, though not tonight, but then is that really the solution that we should expect from apple?

It's just bad, lazy programming and they should find someone who can do better.

Aug 11, 2011 9:51 PM in response to Steve McHargue

That's not what I was referring to, and I won't waste my time because apparently no matter what one says you've made your mind up. I know many people who have no issue and just because your other devices are working and you're having issue with ATV doesn't automatically mean it's apple, and only apple. There are many factors to consider.

Apple doesn't post here, no way to know who reads posts. Anyway I won't post any further.

Many here do have issues with NetFlix and AppleTV despite there other devices working with NetFlix including the iPad. It is an issue that AppleTV chokes up with NetFlix, "Unable To Connect" usually followed with some number code that means nothing to nobody and many times with no code at all.

If it's the AppleTV or NetFlix is really something for them to sort out and soon. This issue has been on going for many now, and yes Apple does not reply here but to think they do not even read here at all would be stupid. Plus this is a good place for users to see that they are not alone in this complain. I have officially reported it to NetFlix and AppleTV as well as should everybody else with the issue should.
