Does autodesk inventor work well on a i5 core?

Does anyone have experience with autodesk inventor(mechanical engeneering program) on a macbook pro with i5 core ? , or would it run well on the i5 or should I buy the i7 core?

Its the 2008 version so its not compatible with the mac OS but I've heard that it should run on boot camp!? Is this correct ?
