Hello,
I would like to know where the APP Store put the .dmg files on my MBP? Because I will be downloading
Lion when it is released. I downloaded a few free apps, but can not find the .dmg files. Can anyone help
me with this? Thanks!

There is no .dmg. The apps are simple drag & drop apps that are downloaded directly to your Apps folder. The same with the Lion Installer, it will appear directly in the Apps folder after the download. You will need to then run the Installer to install Lion on your Mac.

Got it. So the Lion installer will be in my apps folder? the reason I'm asking is because I want to be able to create a bootable DVD so I can do a clean install. I have the instructs per OSX Daily. The instructs were from Apple devs on how to make a bootable DVD as they were doing with the pre-GM's. Thanks!
