I am assuming you purchased this iPhone used. There are lots of arguments about jailbreaking, no matter what defenders of it say it does vastly decrease the security of the iPhone. But...if this jailbroken iPhone has also been unofficially unlocked (and the odds are good this is true) be very careful that you do not update it as this will lock it back to whatever cell provider it was previously locked with and you will not be able to use it.
