I have a 1st Generation ipad,

I would like to be able to print from my ipad.  I think it is possible using an app.

Which one and what wireless printer would anyone recommend.

Thanks.

At this time only HP has come out with printers that support AirPrint:

HP also has an app that enables printing to some of their other wireless printers. It's possible other printer manufacturers may provide updates to their printers to make them AirPrint capable, though none have been announced that I've seen. For other printers, if you have a Mac, Printopia might be worth a look:

If you have a Windows system, search the web for something like "airprint Windows hack" and you'll find instructions on enabling printing.

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

    Hi,

I'd like to pop in with a few questions:

My printer is a HP Photosmart C4680 who's usb cable is connected to a small box or hp print server that connects wirelessly to my Linksys router. I tried Airprint but it didn't work because my printer is not in their list.

Then I tried HP iPrint but this doesn't work either because according to their instructions I have a USB printer that should be connected to an apple airport extreme/express.

So do I get this right, either I buy a new printer that is in the list of supported AirPrint printers

or I buy an apple airport extreme/express, get rid of my hp print server box and linksys router and attach my printer's usb cable to the airport extreme?

Another question is, how is apple airport extreme compared to linksys wrt610n? In other words, what will I loose and what will I gain?

    Thanks in advance

Duck, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Start a discussion" link under the Actions header at the upper-right of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.

    Regards.

Sorry about that. Always thought it's best to do a search first and stay on topic rather than starting a new one

Apparently that works only with Kodak's PicFlick app:
