Using Bluetooth to connect MacBook to Nokia cell phone

My MacBook is paired with my Nokia cell phone in Bluetooth, but I keep getting this error message when I try to send a file to the phone "Failed to establish connection to device." I've never used Bluetooth before-- any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong?

iBook, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Did you do any Software Update recently?

I've had almost the same issue on my MBP just now, after updating it to 10.6.8. , I cannot send a simple PDF file via bluetooth on my Nokia mobile, but after trying this simple test, I was able to send once again just like I used to.

1. In Bluetooth Preferences, you might try removing the bluetooth device your having trouble with. Sometimes removing and then adding the device back in can fix things. (IF THAT DIDN'T WORK PROCEED TO #2)

2. Still in Bluetooth Preferences, Click on "Sharing Setup" button and check if your "Bluetooth Sharing" service is ON, if it's not, just click on the checkbox to turn it ON.

3. Try sending file again from your Macbook to your device via Bluetooth.

Hope this helped. =o)

Thank you for the help, but I didn't get very far. I removed the bluetooth device, but now my macbook can't find the phone. The phone can find the laptop, but not vice versa, so they're no longer paired. I'm assuming that somehow I made the phone not "discoverable". The model of my phone is C1-O1. It's a simple model because I don't like a lot of features, but I do want to transfer some files back and forth. The manual is useless for any trouble shooting. I think I'll try their site and see if that will help me figure out how to make it discoverable again.
