What format should my Music Files be in??

What format should my Music Files be in??

HI.

MacBook, iPod 160GB Classic, Etymotic ER4's IEM's, FiiO 11 Headphone Amp, iTunes (obviously)

What should my Music files be stored as for the best SQ and performance?? ALAC??

If something else, could you explain why?

Probably not the best question to ask on the Apple forums, but apart from iTunes, what are the other alternatives for storing and managing music files on a Mac??

Lossless AAC is a nice format, and it works well with iTunes.

Thanks - how do i check what they currently are and then swap to Lossless AAC in iTunes??

Can I select my whole library to be done at once??

When you right click any selected number of songs, there is a "Create AAC version" option.
