This is the Apple Remote Desktop agent, which is a part of the Apple Remote Desktop Client and is preinstalled with all recent OSX versions.

The Apple Remote Desktop 3 solution is the administration and managing part of that remote desktop solution and needs to be purchased.

The ARDAgent is the piece that sits on the Mac that is going to be administered and then works together with the ARD 3 tool to do its job on a remote Mac.
