What is your reaction to using Lion?

Lion provides for some innovative features. What features are your most impressed with?

No I told you to go look yourself. BIG difference. I'm not doing your homework for you.

Please help me understand the BIG difference. I'm being serious.

You state that the complaints about Lion are of an equal level to complaints made between previous OS changes. This is *your* assertion, not mine.

I ask you to give us evidence that this is true. So far, you have not done so. Why is it "my homework" to support your assertion? And if the evidence for your assertion is so readily available, why are you unable to produce any?

Really, help me out here.

I don’t have time for your poor quality and incomprehension.

At some point even a patient person will stop suffering fools.

That's OK, Doc...I'll pick up the slack. As long as mulligan doesn't mind making a bigger fool of himself with each new garbled post, I'm happy to play along.

I figure it's a public service that "benigits" us all!

Yep hard typing on an iPhone sometimes. So when did you last make a relevant comment on the thread topic? You and Head have serious problems with your obsession and affliction with this one thread. It's almost a problem like gambling for you both and I feel very sad for you. Why not try other threads like Snow Leopard, leopard, Tiger, Panther and see what I and many others have been steering people towards for a long time to show what I was saying. Are you really asking that I take hundreds of thousands of posts from those forums and post them here? That is just ridiculous and the reason I said grow up and have a look around them yourself. On top of that, it has nothing to do with the threads question, just in your ego. "I'll take it from here." do you realize how foolish you look? Stay on topic unless of course you have nothing relevant to say again.

Cheers

I arleady pointed out to you that arguing in this way is a fallacy. If you didn't understand it, look at what Devlin wrote in response. In his misfired attempt to find a fault, he actually re-stated my argument, perhaps in terms you can understand..

When you finally understand, stop repeating this tired old nonsense. You're not convincing anybody by spouting rubbish.

So you are saying that every OS before Lion was implemented without a problem? That there were no users complaining in hoards on these Forums and that every OS introduction was not doom and gloom?funny! The other forums are full of stuff like the Lion forums last time I looked. Even yesterday people were complaining about a battery drain in SL. Hmmmm. I wonder who made up all those posts over the years? Do you have an explanation?

Try just a few hours ago: Re: What is your reaction to using Lion?

If you're looking so hard for relevance and being on-topic, how is it that you had no response to this post? (I notice that Philly_Phan didn't respond either, even though it was a reply to something he said, and even though he found time to reply to several others in the meantime.)

Your sudden yearning for "relevance" rings a bit hollow. All I've seen from you is "Lion is great" over and over again...along with a generous dose of chuckleheadedness.

Here's another one you (and everyone else) ignored that goes right to the heart of this topic: Re: What is your reaction to using Lion?

You and Head have serious problems with your obsession and affliction with this one thread.

What I have a problem with is lack of clearheadedness and logical thinking on the part of certain participants in this thread. I've never had a problem with those who disagree with me, as long as they present their views logically and in an orderly fashion.

My experience is that when someone tries to pin down members of this first group by asking tough questions or getting them to take responsibility for the things they say, that's when they start selectively quoting (leaving out the uncomfortable parts) or ignoring things altogether. Either that, or they try to deflect attention away from what they've done by making noise in another area.

(Oh...did you think I was talking about you in the last two paragraphs?)

You and Head have serious problems with your obsession and affliction with this one thread. It's almost a problem like gambling for you both and I feel very sad for you.

Number of posts I've made here in the last three days (i.e., 72 hours): 17

Number of posts you've made here in the last 18 hours: 15 (the posting history page doesn't go back any farther than this)

Apparently only people who disagree with you are "obsessed."

Are you really asking that I take hundreds of thousands of posts from those forums and post them here?

No. A reasonable person might have concluded that a few well-chosen examples might have gone a long way to proving his point. You know, like "When Leopard introduced (insert system functionality change here), there were howls of outrage from Tiger users that were every bit as vociferous as those of Lion's critics today."

Your response shows that you weren't even swift enough to understand the question, much less take even the first step toward answering it.

That is just ridiculous and the reason I said grow up and have a look around them yourself.

Actually, I was the one who said "grow up" (though not in those exact words). I noted that a more mature individual might have realized that not everyone's computing needs are exactly like his, so therefore, others' reactions to a major operational change might be different from his.

I'll ask a third time...how's that growing up coming along?

On top of that, it has nothing to do with the threads question

I was reacting to something you said, remember? If it had nothing to do with the thread's question, why did you bring it up in the first place?

Do you realize how foolish you look?

That you're asking this question of me is beyond hilarious.

Are you willfully misinterpreting or is this the extent of your understanding? The point is that previous complaints about an OS, justified or not, have no bearing on whether current complaints are justified or not. A simple 😐 example for you:

Let's suppose (for the sake of argument) that this is true:

*[1]. In Leopard, some people claimed that it was buggy. It turned out that all the problems were with their hardware.

From the truth of [1], you cannot reliably infer that

*[2]. Complaints that Lion is buggy are all due to problems with hardware.

[2] may or may not be true, but its truth or falsity has nothing to do with the truth or falsity of [1].

Likewise, your argument that there are always complaints after every upgrade is irrelevant as to whether the complaints about this upgrade are justified or not.

Is that really so hard to understand?

I'm not. 😟 I stand defeated, I'm unsubscribing from this thread with my head hung in shame, my tail between my legs, and my confidence shattered across my keyboard.

It's slamdunker he's pulled off there; I should have seen it coming. I'm off to sob in my coffee.
