Traditional chinese handwriting lost in OS X Lion

I suspect that this is a 'bug' in 10.7. Hopefully it will get fixed in 10.7.1.

I was using Traditional Chinese Handwriting in OS Leopard with no problem. OS Lion sertainly has problem with that issue. Even if I check Simplified and Traditional, I can use handwriting, but only the siplified characters are recognised. You can try to write 學 or 國 and it will see only simlified.

I'm using MBA 11.6" version, which I bought 6 months before. I can't use the Chinese trackpad after upgraded to Lion 10.7. I did try to "pause" the trackpad and resume again, sometimes it work but it's too troublesome if I need to switch between different language / switch between mouse click and Chinese input.

Anyone please HELP me out with such annoying situation. I'm disappointed with such significant bug.

Same problem here with a MBA 13" Core2Duo (Late 2010). Was working just fine in Firefox, and Chrome.

But it is working funny in MS Word & Excel 2011 for Mac. Sometimes it does, other times doesn't work.

Seems like pause it, then pick chinese fonts, then it just might work.

Took me 4 times the usual time required to complete my text page.

It was working just fine in 10.6.6 before I upgraded to 10.7.

Feels like a bug. Hope Apple can fix it soon.

I have the same problem after upgrade to Lion. The Traditional Handwriting function failed, pool!😠

For my MBP, both my Simplified and Traditional handwriting are not working after upgraded to Lion.......

It works after reboot but don't know how long will it last. Interesting.....

Working for awhile then not working again. It may conflict with other applications..... 😟

As long as I don't open Chrome. It seems working........

i can call it out, but i can't type anything on chrome, msn, skype.....only work on textedit,spotlight....

Thanks to Kaifuh's link. It works for now. I haven't try to restart the iMac yet. Hopefully 10.7.1 or 10.7.2 won't screw things up again.

Got the problem fixed, here is the magic; at least it works for me.

1.) goto System Perferences -> Language & Text -> Input Sources

2.) enable Chinese - Simplified first, then, press Shift+Control+Space

3.) will enable the Simplified trackpad hand write. (Alert box)

4.) then, back to the Language & Text -> disable the Trackpad Handwriting form Chinese - Simplified

5.) Finally, enable the Trackpad handwriting form Chinese - Traditional -> press Shift+Control+Space (Alert Box)

6.) Magic...
