Lion Cursor Bug

Does anyone else have the bug in Lion where the cursor will sometimes shoot to a corner of the screen? I'm using a Magic Mouse with my Macbook Pro and from what I've seen it will sometimes happen when the mouse is moving from one window to another one and then it will just go all the way across the screen to the edge in the direction I was moving the cursor.

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro (bought it in August). I got a machine that did not have the Lion installed, so I had it for a few days before I upgraded to Lion and had no issues with pointer jumpiness. After the upgrade, it's been almost unbearable.

I my MacBook hooked up to a 21-inch monitor and a wired Mac extended keyboard. I have a wireless Magic Trackpad, a wireless Magic Mouse, an old wireless Mac Mouse, and an old WIRED Mac Mouse. (Note that I haven't been using them all at the same time, I turn each off if they are not in use).

My pointer jumps around when I use each one. Given that the same jumpiness is occurring when I use my wired mouse, this would indicate that it is not a Bluetooth issue a...although my old wireless Mac Mouse is by far the worst performing of the four.

I submitted my feedback to Apple in August, no replies. What a joke!

Still happening over here, submitted feedback to apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html which hopefully everyone is doing. It gets much worse when system is under load, for example I can quickly start three tabs loading big pages full of ads etc. and the mouse will start flicking all over the place ... like it's having trouble getting an interrupt to get some CPU time to update where it is. Suddenly it will "recover" and teleport clear across the screen, requiring a mouse jiggle to figure out where the cursor went. Terribly frustrating since it renders the computer nearly unusable.

Tried three mice, Logitech M315 and M310 USB mice - same. These were purchased after the Lion upgrade and all this started - the original mouse is a bluetooth Razer RAZ-N553 (bluetooth would be greatly preferred, since it's built into the laptop and doesn't require one of those USB nibs). The bluetooth mouse is *much* worse - totally unusable.

I'm afraid my update to 10.7.2 has not resolved this lingering cursor issue with the Trackpad (and only with the Trackpad; Bluetooth Magic Mouse works fine). I read that Apple issued no bug fixes in this release, mainly intended for iCloud transition.

As for your other text issue, you should probably start (or check for) a separate forum issue for that. This forum is pretty focused on the cursor bug. Good luck.

OK, change that here - noticed with Lion 10.7.2 the usb laser mouse was indeed better. Bought a new bluetooth mouse, Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 at Office Max and it works perfectly. Like night and Day. Note that on the packaging for this mouse it says on the packaging, "1000 DPI Mouse" which might have made all the difference.

Anyway upgrading to 10.7.2 + buying a 1000 DPI mouse did the trick. FIXED. :-)

Not at all. There is nothing naive about any suggestions that might help here.

As for me, I've gone through every conceivable permutation of the Universal Access options, Mouse switches, Trackpad checkboxes, Keyboard sliders, and a score of other fruitless exercises. I have trolled every forum I could find for assistance and tried everything including starting my iMac with The Clapper. Nothing.
