No momentum scrolling option in Lion?
Hello,
I would like to enable scrolling with momentum in Lion. I disabled it in Snow Leopard, and now can't find the option to re-enable it. Any ideas?
Thanks

You can re-enable it by going to system preferences>Universal access>trackpad>trackpad options>with inertia.
There is a bug in Lion os x though. This is only temporary. You have to do the steps everytime you log out and log back in or after you restart your mac.
Hello,
I bought my magic mouse as an optional extra for my iMac which, at the time was running 10.5.8. I never did manage to get the momentum scrolling to work, even after using the terminal commands and in the end gave up.
I then upgraded to Snow Leopard and hoped that it would automatically update my settings, but again, no matter what I tried, no momentum scrolling.
Now I've upgraded to Lion ...... same again, no momentum scrolling!
I've checked all of the mouse and universal access options (enabled 'with inertia') and everything else that everyone recomends to try but still no joy!
Can anybody think of anything else I can try as I've now run out of all ideas and hope of ever getting it to work!
Thanks in advance.
Regarding the bug... I think something is reversed. Try setting scrolling to "without inertia" in Universal Access, then restart. For me, that gives me momentum scrolling. If I set it to "with inertia", I get the behavior you describe (have to go to Universal Access, turn it "off", then back on again after every boot before it works).
I still get the same problem after restarting
This worked!!!
I set it to "Without Inertia", rebooted and the setting sticks!
Weird but it worked for me. It does indeed feel reversed...
Thanks flyingtabmow, it's been bugging me for weeks (at least since I installed Lion).
Thanks flyingtabmow!
With you suggestion I set scrolling to "without inertia" and then rebooted and not I have inertial scrolling even after rebooting again.
