Anyone having problems with ichat after lion install?

I just installed Lion and having problems getting iChat to work. It won't signon to my aim account. I tried deleting all accounts and restarting.

I had the plugin Chax install which is an extension to iChat. I was wondering if anyone else was having problems?

Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Same issue here. Accounts are there, then they vanish. Reboot sometimes makes them come back, sometimes they're still gone and can't be added back through iChat nor through System Prefs > mail, contacts, calendars.

When accounts ARE present it just says 'connecting...' and never does....ALTHOUGH I see me as being offline, my buddies are seeing me as online and can send messages which come through, even though I can't do anything back because iChat claims I'm offline.

Dear Apple, spend some of your $27billion on making stuff that works. K thx bye

I was having this exact problem, and then something weird happened. Time Machine started backing up and randomly facetime opened. Now I have not had any problems at all. All my accounts are back and iChat seems to be working fine. I know this is not a fix but if you are using time machine attempt to back up with time machine and see if it does anything for you.

I did a more drastic version of this and it seems to have worked.

Library is now hidden in finder, so you have to use the "GO" menu > Connect to Folder

and type /Users/YOURNAME/Library/ into the box.

***

Navigate to this location in the Finder:

Macintosh HD/users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences

And delete the following files:

com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist

com.apple.ichat.plist

com.apple.ichat.subnet.plist

com.apple.ichatAgent.plist

***

I did an extra step - I went to Caches (in the main Library folder) and deleted the folder com.apple.iChat

Reboot. And it worked.

Before you empty trash make a copy of everything you're about to delete in case it entirely breaks.

I can't guarantee it will work, but it's fixed all of my iChat issues here, and I figured I had nothing to lose anyways.
