Q: Secondary click in Lion, Macbook Pro 4,1

I've used the another user account on my computer and it works. Didn't want to try and change the settings or I'm sure it will stop working straight away!

What does preferences-old mean?

I tried deleting the .GlobalPreferences.plist and that didn't work. Still no luck. This is seriously annoying. If anyone can figure out an easy watch to patch this, I'd be very grateful!

Same for me, created another account and worked okay there. Back to my main account and doesn't work (2 finger tap). Funny thing is, the three finger look up didn't work before but does now!  Oh, no strike that, 3 finger tap doesn't work anymore!

To workaround this problem on older macbooks, open Terminal.app from /Applications/Utilities/ run following command:

defaults -currentHost write -g com.apple.trackpad.enableSecondaryClick -bool YES

then log out and log back in (to disable secondary click pass NO instead of YES as the last argument).

For those who still can't get it to work, make sure that the Secondary Click box is unchecked in system prefs before you run the command. If the box is checked, the command will do nothing (from my experience on the first 4 MBPs I've run this command on).

Thanks buddy working now secondary click is back again

Unfortunately this does not seem to work for me. Even if it's checked (after logout-login) it's still not working.
