It seems pretty clear in the Server app how to configure hosting multiple websites but it doesn't seem to work. No matter what I put in, requests just go to the default Mac OS X Server site. Anyone had luck with this?

Same problem - you can enter whatever you want in the Server.app for virtual host routing and it is duly ignored
Did you add the new site(s) to the hosts file?
How did this pass testing? Was this tested?
They're in DNS, shouldn't need to be in the hosts file. But just for kicks, I added them to hosts and it didn't help.
Yeah it dosen't seem like the hosts file does anything anymore, weird that it is still is there though.
Seriously don't waste time on that... Apple will probably fix it soon (I hope) lol
I'll stick with 10.6 since i host Wordpress sites and nothing can be worked around to fix this issue..
I was about to buy Lion server until I read this post. Is it really not currently working with mutiple websites? How can this be possible?

Yeah, but it doesn't work! What was working with SL is now broken with Lion. This is royally screwed up!
Wow, it's hard to imagine that this is not working. It has been available to developers for several months. Is there a PDF manual that I can download?
looks like they forgot to include the NameVirtualHost directive in any of the config files...
Judging by the readme located at /etc/apache2 the directive should be generated into /etc/apache2/sites/virtual_host_global.conf but it isn't for some reason
if you create a file called /etc/apache2/sites/00000_MoreTestingRequired.conf containing a single line:-
NameVirtualHost *:80
then restart apache then virtual hosts start working properly

That does fix the problem. I'm glad someone had the time to RTFM. I just wish that the Apple developers had done the same. Pretty easy to fix, pretty hard to miss. I don't think they tested this at all.

Where is /etc/apache2? I only see it in a "Previous Systems" folder. Is that where I want to modify it? Is this only able to be done from the command line?
it's easiest from the command line - bring up a terminal and copy/paste this into it
sudo echo NameVirtualHost\ \*:80 > /etc/apache2/sites/00000_MoreTestingRequired.conf
I did read the manual....but it is useless, at the end of the day, it is still apache under the covers so I just read the config files.
