Multiple websites

It seems pretty clear in the Server app how to configure hosting multiple websites but it doesn't seem to work. No matter what I put in, requests just go to the default Mac OS X Server site. Anyone had luck with this?

Multilink multihoming

Multilink multihoming enables Lion Server to host multiple IP addresses on the same or multiple network interfaces. This is ideal for connecting your server simultaneously to multiple networks, such as a public and a private network, or hosting multiple websites, each with its own IP address."

looks like they forgot to include the NameVirtualHost directive in any of the config files...

Judging by the readme located at /etc/apache2 the directive should be generated into /etc/apache2/sites/virtual_host_global.conf but it isn't for some reason

if you create a file called /etc/apache2/sites/00000_MoreTestingRequired.conf containing a single line:-

NameVirtualHost *:80

then restart apache then virtual hosts start working properly

That does fix the problem. I'm glad someone had the time to RTFM. I just wish that the Apple developers had done the same. Pretty easy to fix, pretty hard to miss. I don't think they tested this at all.

All my sites are working now.

Thanks
