Same here. The iMac wakes from sleep with the wifi still connected. Yay!

Feb 25, 2012 7:44 AM in response to lhaleby Mignition,I installed the Wi-Fi update and the connection problems got worse. Deleting all the Airport related entries in Keychain Access didn’t help either.
Every couple of minutes the connection is lost. This is very annoying und frustrating. I hope there is a real fix aas soon as possible.

Feb 25, 2012 7:55 AM in response to lhaleby stayanonimis,I installed the update and nothing has changed.
No better, no worse.
Each time the computer is put to sleep, or even closed (it's a laptop) for one second, the wifi drops, and I have to select my network again to reconnect. (Luckily, I don't have to enter my password)
It is a mid 2008 black MacBook with Lion.

Thanks very much for that.
I had no idea there was a difference. I though Lion was Lion.
thx,

Feb 25, 2012 11:16 AM in response to alearesiby DrVenture, alearesi,
First confirm you have to correct Atheros driver. Open System Information report, click on WiFi on the left and copy and paste your IO80211family version and Atheros driver version.
Did you happen to load an older Snow Leopard driver on your iMac running Lion prior to installing the update? If yes, download the combo update again, then load the iMac WiFi update again.
Then when all else fails, dump your system config files to your desktop and reboot and let them rebuild. Reconnect to your WiFi network and see if your iMac can auto join to your WiFi network on wake.
open a terminal and do:
cd /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
open .
move all of the plist files to your Desktop
Reboot
Your iMac will recreate the files upon boot to give you a clean slate for your network config.

Feb 25, 2012 11:23 AM in response to alearesiby jimpal,I'm away from home, so have not been able to apply this new fix to my iMac (which also has wifi disconnect problems) yet. Before I do try this new fix next week I am going to be sure to first apply the recent updates to Aurport Utility and Time Capsule. It may be that the new fix depends on those updates before it will work properly. Have you applied those updates yet? it will be good for us to know when we evaluate the results of the new fix on our iMacs. Thanks.
