Same with me!
My LaunchPad icon is missing from the dock and not in the Applications folder..does anyone know how to recover it?
I have the same problem as you did you find out what to do?
Mine has gone missing too.
Open the Finder. Select the Applications file. Find the Lauchpad.app icon and drag it to the dock.
Open Spotlight (magnifying glass, top right of your screen) type
launchpad
Is it listed under 'Applications'? If yes, click on it to check it launches OK. Then go to Finder, and in the Applications folder drag it to the dock.
If Launchpad is not in your Applications folder, type
Terminal
in Spotlight and press the 'return' key on your keyboard.
Copy/paste this command (its all one line) into the Terminal window (do not attempt to type it):
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db; killall Dock
Does Launchpad appear in the Dock now?
This solved my question
Glad to hear that, srdoug! 🙂
Hi i have a problem with my launchpad it opens but i can´t click on any app because it closes =(
any suggestion?
Thanks!
I have a suggestion. I have no idea whether or not it will solve your problem or not but it will reset the launchpad database which may help. you'll need to direct yourself to your application support folder by using the goto in finder and enter ~/Library/Application Support. Find the dock folder and delete all of the files in it. Open launchpad again and hopefully it will work
Best of Luck
I have the same problem & have tried
