Finder display issues with Lion

I have the same iMac and I am seeing the same type of corruption.

I have two Grab window captures that show the same problem as yours. So at least you are not alone, and its most likely a software problem. Unless both our iMacs broke in the same way.

I am having problems with Finder - it crashes every time it is used either alone or via an application! I have upgraded OS many times over 12 plus years as a Mac user and this is the first time I have had a major issue!

It is very dissapointing as the benefits of Lion are not yet obvious!

The other problem is that my older Adobe CS appls no longer work - with no warning before installing Lion!

This was a known drawback. I install Lion on an external drive with a clone of my system drive on it. That let me test operations first. Then I cloned the drive back to my system drive.

My iMac is a 2011 that is subject to the Seagate HD replacement. I'm hauling it to the Apple Store on Monday, and probably rebuilding it the rest of Monday.

All I can suggest about Finder is to delete (or move) the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file, so that Finder will re-create when relaunched. If you can't find your user Library folder, you need to Google that to reset some flags.

I too have the same computer and the same exact problem. Very annoying. Only thing i found to help it is to scrool very fast (flick your finger down or up fast).

I just tried trashing my finder preferences.

I will let you know in a couple hours if it is succesful.

Yes, I've noticed this issue too. I was just going to post this as I found this thread. Also a 2011 Imac i5 6970m.

i'm getting increasingly severe corruption problems in finder windows as well. i've got a new imac 27" with two 27" displays.

i installed lion and started experiencing numerous video corruption problems in the finder.

windows in the finder start experiencing color shifting... and now there's an odd pixelation of window bordering going on.

there seems to be some correlation with whether or not i'm running chicken of the vnc, or alternatively apple remote desktop, but i haven't convinced myself of that, as that the only thing that seems to solve the corruption issues is a restart.

when i next get the chance to restart, i'll not launch either of the remote apps, and give it a day or two and see if the corruption occurs when neither of those two apps are running.

I have the same experience with a late 2006 iMac 24-inch with the GeForce 7300 GT graphics. Very disappointing.

Saw the display corruption issue on Finder too on an iMac 27' with Radeon 6970M upgrade to Lion, so there's definitely a problem here. Seems to be good so far after a NVRAM/PRAM and SMC reset though.

I remember doing this a while back to help my boot times but i forgot the keys to hold down on boot to do it

Can you explain how to do reset them please,
