Does anyone recommend OS X Lion?
I've seen many comments about people having different problems and trouble with the new OS X Lion, does anyone recommend me to download it? My current OS is Mac OS X 10.6.7.

I was able to resolve this by having my ISP take remote control of my computer and download and install a patch.
Upgrade in half a year or so, when all the bugs have been fixed. Next time theres an upgrade i wont be all hyped up about it.. its a PAIN!
I have loaded it onto a MacBook pro 13inch and 15 inch. No problems at all and it's an improvement, except the really cheesy leather look interface for iCal, I am using Busycal instead so I don't have to look at that dreadful design. What were they thinking of. Everything else is very nice.
If you do a search here or on Google someone has come up with a way to change the leather to aluminum.
Lion is completely amazing. The best out of the three OS's I have used: OS9, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Look this merge folders thing needs to be fixed. I have a few conplaints about buggyness and other stuff, it's a new system, they will work the kinks out. But seriously when you drag a folder to another same named folder in another finder window. Merge needs to be an option. If you will go back and give a skip and apply to all that will work fine for me. But now when I'm backing up data on different drives the choice is don't or replace 2 tb of data every update. not cool apple. Had I known this one thing I would not have upgraded. See if we cant get a fix to this pronto. Also no. Cmd C then Cmd V, or hilighting both, or holding option. None of these work what so ever on my mbp. There is no doing it. Drang and drop between two finder windows, add merge, or return skip. PLEASE!!!!! Btw core 2 duo much slower with lion but I expected as much. I like lion but the sooner I see update available for some lion fixes the better. Please hurry this is annoying.
I can't recommend it. I've just restored back to Snow Leopard. I'll try again next year when they get it all working properly.
I've had every OS since OS8, and this is the worst by far (IMHO).
Bob.
Yes, I like Lion. Easy download. I don't use non-Apple apps.
Everything is working. I have been enjoying the full screen app today.
This Mac user is happy.😎
...if i purchase something new, then i expect to be told the differences! And generally it is so windows feely, i hate it. Now i have to reformat my Mac to go back to snow Leopard, CHECK IT OUT before you jump.
You should have taken your own advice and read an article or two about getting ready for Lion before installing it on your computer. Helpful articles have been all over the internet for months. Your statement, "I expect to be told the differences!" sounds like you expected to be spoon-fed the necessary information like a baby. You could have found out everything you need to know in five minutes by Googling "OS X Lion". Don't blame Apple for your own lack of due diligence.
I like it on my iMac but it's even better on my Air. Everything looks great and flows beautifully. Pages, which I've always loved, is even better now. So is Safari. I'm learning to like Mail. Looks like they spent a lot of time making it work on smaller screens. Great job.
A lot of the remarks here are reminding me of the switch from OS9 to X.
Due diligence is for Windows consumers. To paraphrase Steve Jobs, I just expect Apple to work. ;-)
DON'T DO IT! Lion screwed my computer, performance dropped to ridiculous levels, my virtual machine is gone and Spaces were much more user friendly then Lion's "Mission Control". This OS is a bad joke, worst one I ever seen, rolling back to Snow Leopard.
NOOOOOO! Maybe good for "easy level" users, not for serious work. As somebody stated Macs apps works, any other perforamce demanding application is down with performance or doesn't work at all. If you do a serious work on your Mac and not just fancy staff with family photos my recommendation is wait for some 10.7. xxxx patch before upgrading. This upgrade and getting back will cost me a weekend. Thank you Apple!
Macs mostly do just work. But if you expect Apple to spoon-feed you every bit of information you ever need to know in order to use and maintain your computer, then your expectations are unfortunately way out of line. I've used Windoze machines and there's no doubt that Macs are easier to use and much more trouble-free. But expecting such a complex machine to "just work" by itself always and forever without any thought or intervention on your part? That's an unattainable fantasy.
I took the plunge on an old MBP and a newer iMac. I've had no problems and I've put it through probably 5-6 hours of solid use so far. Frankly the ability to have whole disk encryption was worth the cost let alone all the other features.
