Does anyone recommend OS X Lion?
I've seen many comments about people having different problems and trouble with the new OS X Lion, does anyone recommend me to download it? My current OS is Mac OS X 10.6.7.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

VMWare Fusion works for me fine :-)
Fusion works great for me as well. I have Winxp, win7 and Fedora guests all fine.
I broke a cardinal rule... I ALWAYS wait until they work out the bugs.... this time I didn't and downloaded on APP Store and now I regret it... problems with crashes and Imovie and other things crash.
Beware!
Hi... just because WE have problems does not mean we CANNOT voice our concern ok? IF we have problems we are allowed to caution people ok?

I recomend it. You are not hearing complaints so much as issues (well, some complaints, but some people are just that way). There are always issues, I've had a few myself. But what I like about it I REALLY like. Once I shake all the bugs out of my system and workflow I'm going to love it.
I'm growing really tired of people like you dismissing valid criticism as some sort of mental aberration.

People who are having trouble certainly can and should report their problems and concerns. What some participants may be reacting to is the expressions of shock and dismay we are hearing from some of those who are experiencing difficulties. That and the tendency of some contributors to make sweeping statements that really apply only to themselves.
Early adopters of brand new, cutting-edge software need to understand that any major new release of OS X is always buggy in the beginning. Those with a low tolerance for the inevitable frustrations that go with the territory should think twice (or even three times) before taking the plunge. If you skate on thin ice and end up in the freezing cold water, don't blame the ice.

I did not know that. This is good information. Thanks! I'm running Office 2008 for the Mac. So if Lion goes south and you have to re-install for some reason, it would be better to reinstall Snow Leopard, then install Office BEFORE upgrading to Lion.
I don't know where the PowerPC installer meme started, and I have repeated it myself, but I stuck my 2008 installer into my Lion Mac and it ran fine. The installer is a standard install package.
Don't install Lion!!!! Keep Snow Leopard!!!
I made the mistake of installing this buggy piece of software and now I' m starting to hate my Macs.
Or simply make a backup of your hard drive and try Lion. If you don't like simply restore your backup.

I am waiting for Lion to be released on DVD before I make the change.
LOL, I think you're going to have a very long wait! From what I've heard, they're releasing it on a USB flash drive and have no plans to put it on DVD! 😝
No problems here, just a couple of settings changes.
I had to change scroll settings on my mouse and trackpad.
Firefox is acting a little different via the mouse.
With all the issues on this forum, I am wonder what did they do that I didn't do.

What's been buggy for you? I noted you have only made a post on one thing dealing with wake on network. What other bugs have you found?
It seems to run smoother than Snow for me.

No dont do it. Wait until the problems are fixed. My mail does not work which is a complete disaster. You would think something as important as this would be addressed at testing. Some new features but nothing that warrants turning a usable computer into unusable.
Just because you're having some Mail issues is no reason to suppose everyone is.
My only issue with the new Mail is the awful layout. I'm really hating it and wondering if there's a way to go back to the way the old Mail was! 😝
Office for Mac 2011 works fine.
Same here...VMWare Fusion works fine.
