Message says I'm not connected to the Internet, but I am.

I was going to try to download some of the new voices in Lion. So I went to the Speech preferance pane, I chose System Voice, Customize, and then selected some of the new voices. Then I get this error message:

The voice "Jill" can’t be installed now because you are not connected to the Internet.

However, I'm obviously connected to the Internet because I'm writing this! Does anyone have any suggestions because I can't download the additional voices.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

I have the same problem!

Software update is working fine.

But when it comes to downloading the voice of my choice through system preferences i get this error that iam not connected to the internet.

OS X Lion on an imac 8,1

How can we solve this?

I deleted all my locations and created a new one in the networking system preference, and that did the trick. I was then able to download them.

You can create a new one and delete the original one.

Also, you might try unchecking Auto Proxy Discovery if it's on and see if that makes a difference.

Turning off the "Auto Proxy Discovery" solved the problem for me.

Where do I find the "auto proxy discovery" thing to change? I've looked in itunes and under control panel in various places. Any advice would be helpful as I can't get to itunes like so many have posted here. Thanks!
